Very long response time in RT3.4 windows package

Hi! All. (Sorry english is not my native language)

I just installed the latest windows package RT 3.4.0.test in my P4
box(256M) and find the response time is quite long.
the homepage will take about 0.7-2.0 seconds to display and the ticket
display time may be as long as 4-5 seconds.

To reduce memory usage, i changed the mysql configuration and reduced
its buffer. The max modperl Interpreter number is reduced too.

could any one give some tips for rt working in a small box? ( the manual
tells recommended memory is 1G)

I tested the mysql link and mason/mod_perl response time with some
simple “hello world”, “select * from test” scripts and got quick responses.

in site.conf, i tested both cgi and mod_perl options, the display time
almost does not change.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Pan,

we also had it running initially - and where experiencing the same
problems
Every few queries, apache was restarting and causing huge delays.
After several weeks of searching and tweaking we decided to move the
database to a Linux box and since then our RT setup is working
perfectly.

There is something very wrong with the windows package - but I was not
able to fix it.

A good idea would be if someone would be able to get RT running on
WAMPserver …

Filip

If i had enough time, maybe i 'll take wamp+rt a try. ( learning mason now),

With perl gets matured, now windows+ apache+ other high quality gnu-ware is
quite good for company and personal use.

the main problem i found lies in free database. both mysql and postgres
lacks some necessary features. e.g. thread-safety in their odbc drivers.

thanks.

That shouldn’t be a problem when working with Perl and Mysql/Postgres.
Perl uses native drivers, not ODBC drivers.
