Urgent: "permission denied" / "Correspondence (probably) not recorded"

Help please anyone who can:

I get “permission denied” email upon any transaction recorded and on correspondence RT replies with a “Correspondence (probably) not recorded” message.
Correspondence is not recorded at all.

It just started acting up this morning, without anything notable being done to RT in the last days.

If it’s that urgent, you might consider whether or not you need a support
contract from Best Practical…

Most likely you’re trying to correspond on a ticket with a different email
address from the requestor, or you don’t have the right ACLs to allow
“Everyone” to correspond on a ticket. Hard to say without further details.

All the users are experiencing this. That’s why it seems so odd.
I get some files in my log dir, e.g. rt.log.14712.0 containing lots of the following:

RT::Ticket=HASH(0x91a5710) couldn’t init a transaction (Transaction Created)
RT::Attachment->Create couldn’t, as you didn’t specify a transaction
RT::Attachment->Create couldn’t, as you didn’t specify a transaction
RT::Attachment->Create couldn’t, as you didn’t specify a transaction
RT::Attachment->Create couldn’t, as you didn’t specify a transaction
RT::Ticket=HASH(0x91504ac) couldn’t init a transaction (Transaction Created)
RT::Attachment->Create couldn’t, as you didn’t specify a transaction
RT::Ticket=HASH(0x91276c4) couldn’t init a transaction (Transaction Created)
RT::Attachment->Create couldn’t, as you didn’t specify a transaction

Does that reveal anything to you?

I did not change any rt-configuration, and nothing was done on the server either …

Any more suggestions?

Like Simon said, you may want to consider getting a support contract from
Best Practical. That would surely entitle you to great support from the
author…

I found it was a database corruption. I fixed it with “CHECK TABLE …” & “REPAIR TABLE …” from within MySQL. You could also do the MySQL repairs with “myisamchk” from the command line.

I believe my problem to merely be inconsistent/corrupted indexes somewhere (sorry I cant be more specific - I was to overjoyed to find it working to concentrate on the cause of my problem)

Hey, I’m getting the same thing here! I have the same messages showing up in the logs too.

If anyone figures out a fix, please post it to the list. In the meantime, I will work on it here.

I did a manual ticket content alteration to remove some confidential/sensitive data in a ticket yesterday - I believe that was the initial trigger to the corruption. Why it happened I am not sure since I merely updated a field, but that was the only ‘unnatural’ thing I’ve done in RT.
