Ticket Merge Issue

In RT I can handily merge one ticket into another by
using the Relationships header. What I have found is,
that when I merge one ticket into another, the time
worked field is obliterated in the parent ticket.

Checked the articles for issues relating to ‘merge’
and ‘worked’ (minutes) field but was unsucessful. Has
anyone else run into this and can point me in the
right direction to correct?
