Recently, people have mentioned some concerns that the initial win32 port
is built against mysql and apache. The currentsolution is true to RT’s
roots and is a fantastic step. It’s useful to anyone who wants to run RT
on a win32 platform. Initial design work for RT using fastcgi under IIS
has been done, as well some preliminary work to support MS SQL Server.
In the future, these issues, and many others, such as ports to other
enterprise database servers, will definitely receive more attention,
especially as paying customers indicate their interest or other folks
contribute work to support the new platforms.
I, for one, am absolutely thrilled that you can now run RT under Win32.
