Stripmime Question

I have set up stripmime per the documentation (at least as far as I can
tell) and searched for a similar problem in the archive so I hope someone
can please help. When sending a request to the queue I get the following
reply from the rt system:

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
|“opt/rt/bin/stripmime.pl Pager correspond”
(reason: service unavailable)
(expanded from: pager@localhost)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
smrsh: stripmime.pl not available for sendmail programs
554 5.0.0 |“opt/rt/bin/stripmime.pl Pager correspond”… Service unavailable

smrsh limits the programs that can be run by sendmail. They are usually
configured in the /etc/smsrh. It is considered a bad idea to add perl etc to
the acceptable executables list.

I’m not really familiar with it since I use qmail so perhaps do a man smrsh
for more details.

Cheers

You will want to create a softlink in the /etc/smrsh folder to the
executable you wish to run.

Ex:

ln -s /path/to/file/stripmime.pl /etc/smrshFrom: rt-users-admin@lists.fsck.com
