Serious bug in RT 3.4.HEAD? Select CFs can't have numeric values?

I just tried to create a SelectSingle custom field in an
RT 3.4.HEAD instance. The possible values are supposed to be
a list of 4 digit years.

I understand that RT likes to load objects by Id when the
value supplied is numeric, but not allowing integers in the
drop down CFs seems… bad.

Am I missing something?
