SeeQueue does not add Queue to Qick search list

Hi there,

I have followed the RT-Essentials guide for personal Todo lists and
added SeeQueue to all privileged users. Thus queue appears in the New
Ticket drop down menu but does not appear in the Quick search list.

I have tried removing the privilege and it does indeed dissapear from
the New ticket drop down list, re-adding the privilege only adds it
back to the drop down menu.

I am using RT version 3.4.2

Regards,

Brendan

The ShowTicket right is needed to see a queue in the Quick search list. This is a handy feature. For instance, if you have a queue for sensitive issues - you may want people to be able to see the queue so they can create tickets in it, but you don’t want them to be able to see all other tickets in the queue (just their own). So you give the Requestor group ShowTicket for that queue, but not the Everyone group.-----Original Message-----

Hi,

hmm i tested this configuration but the user has still no QuickSearch for
the Todo queue.

Everyone have the SeeQueue right and the owner has the ShowTicket right.
But the owner gets no QuickSearch. I am missing something?

Hi Again,

i forgot to say i use Version 3.4.2.

Oliver, the SeeQueue right does not automatically add to the Quick
searchlist since you may want say a secretary to ‘see the queue’ for
adding new tickets but you may not want them to ‘see the queue’ plus
all the tickets. Not adding a link to the Quick search list avoids a
redundant link in this case.

For the queue to appear in the Quick search you need to set the
ShowTicket right to Everyone (for some reason just assigning
ShowTicket to the Owner is not enough - this may be a bug)

Hi Brendan,

For the queue to appear in the Quick search you need to set the
ShowTicket right to Everyone (for some reason just assigning
ShowTicket to the Owner is not enough - this may be a bug)

thanks for your response, but when i set the this right to Everyone
then the queue isn’t personalized anymore.

I followed the example todo list in the book rt essentials. But maybe
you are right and it’s a bug.
What a pity, it is a nice feature and it would be great if the people
could see the number of their todo task in the quick search view.

Thanks

Oli

Oli,

Yeah unfortunately that’s the conclusion I came to too after following
the same instructions in RT Essentials.

I suppose it could be possible to hack the Perl code but I’m novice
when it comes to Perl.
