Seemingly a bug?

In my RT system (RT 3.4.2 on RHEL 4)
We have several users. For example,
gmartin has email address gmartin@chilsemi.com
tcandage has email address tcandage@chilsemi.com
and so forth.

For some reason, when I login as root, and try to change the email
address for eharvey, I can’t do it.

If I enter eharvey@chilsemi.com, then I get the response “User eharvey:
Illegal value for EmailAddress”

If I enter anything else, for example, eharveyy@chilsemi.com or
edward.harvey@chilsemi.com, everything works just fine. It’s only the
value "eharvey@chilsemi.com" that’s no good.

Any ideas?

You have another user, possibly disabled with that email address. On Thu, Jul 27, 2006 at 02:35:45PM -0400, Edward Harvey wrote:

That’s what I thought too, but I’ve systematically double-checked every
user, including disabled users, and there are no other users with the
same email address.

Any other reason this might happen?
