RT with external database

Hi.

This has probably been asked 1000 times, I have done a search but found
no results that were definitive.
Can I use and external database with RT?

You mean a database on another host? Sure. See ./configure --help while
setting RT up.

How about a DB that has external contacts. Perhaps
the ability to pull the external contact db into the
requestor field??
