RT w/ Qmail

#1

I compiled RT with the base email-options, though I have Qmail installed.
Now, everytime I want to send an comment/reply I get HTTP/500 Internal
server error. My reply is being added (if I do a ‘go back’). Anyone who’s
using a secure qmail in stead of sendmail ;-o ;))

Please send the tail of your Apache error logs to the list to help
diagnose the problem.

Oops…
[date] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] (13)Permission denied:
mod_mime_magic: can’t read `/usr/local/rt/bin/cgi/webrt.cgi’
Can’t locate /usr/local/rt/etc/config.pm in @INC (@INC contains:

/usr/local/rt/lib) at /usr/local/rt/bin/rtmux.pl line 20

I’ve set the permissions to rt (chown rt.rt /usr/local/rt -R) but still this
error. Also the sendmail is saying I’m using the incorrect parameters, so if
anyone can send me the $mail_options for qmail

That doesn’t look like a qmail problem - does /usr/local/rt/etc/config.pm
exist, and is readable by the right user? su to the user you are running
rt as and make sure it works.

qmail includes a sendmail compatible wrapper, so the $mail_options
you need are just ‘-oi -t’

In the immortal words of Mestdagh Mark (mark.mestdagh@dad.be):

Did anyone manage to get RT work with Qmail in stead of sendmail?

“Yes.”

What do you need to know?

Some people will say that words like scum and rotten are wrong for
Objective Journalism – which is true, but they miss the point. It was
the built-in blind spot of the Objective rules and dogma that allowed
Nixon to slither into the White House in the first place. (–HST)
