RT installation problems

Greetings!

I am trying to install RT using mysql as my database. I get the
following errors…

any ideal as of why…?

NOTE:: this is tools/initdb line 56:

drop_database( $dsn, $DB_DBA, $DB_DBA_PASSWORD )
or warn $DBIx::DataSource::errstr;

Creating mysql database rt.
Had to create DBD::mysql::dr::imp_data_size unexpectedly at
/usr/perl5/site_perl/5.005/sun4-solaris/DBI.pm line 687, chunk
2.
Use of uninitialized value at
/usr/perl5/site_perl/5.005/sun4-solaris/DBI.pm line 687, chunk
2.

END failed–cleanup aborted, chunk 2.

This looks suspiciously like what I got after an aborted “make install”. I think
RT had created its table already in the database, and choked when I tried to run
the “make install” again. So, I did “make upgrade” instead, and everything was
hunky-dorey.

Something to try, anyway…

that seems to work…or at lease get me pass that problem…thanks!!

methinks i spoke too soon…when ever you do an upgrade, it expects an installation
to have been there…generating errors during the install…

Donnie,
So you know, you’re using the current development version of RT and
not the stable production release. If you’re looking for something
to run today, I’d recommend 1.0.7.
To help figure out what’s going on with your attempted install:

    What version of RT are you trying to install?
    What version of mysql are you trying to install against?
    what does perl rt/tools/testdeps -warn say?

Hello,

I am indeed using rt-1-3-38 with
mysql-3.23.29a-gamma-sun-solaris2.8-sparc…

below are the current problems that I am having…any suggestions…?

Is there a manual/detailed FAQ that I could review…that would help
immensely!!..esp with the configuration (via the
rt/etc/config.pm)
