We’re closing in on the final release of Request Tracker 6.0.0 and we wanted to give the community one more chance to test and send feedback.
This second beta release includes several bug fixes and improvements based on feedback from the beta 1 testing phase.
Key Updates in Beta 2
- Assets and Articles can now use scrips! As you might imagine, this is a pretty big change, and we would really like to get feedback from testers. For now, we mainly want confirmation that your existing scrips continue to work as expected. This update started as a pull request opened by Bradley Bell (brb on github). Thanks!
- We made several improvements to the automated database upgrade process, enabling smoother upgrades, especially from very old RT versions.
- Improved filtering from column headings on ticket search results. You didn’t know you could filter search results by clicking on headers? Give it a try!
- Has anyone experimented with the new page layouts feature? You can completely customize dashboards, ticket pages, and asset pages now.

Installation and Upgrade
Installation and upgrade instructions are the same as for beta 1. You can check the earlier post for tips on testing. This is a pre-release beta, so you should test on a dev system only. We don’t recommend running this beta release in production.
Feedback
We welcome all feedback and bug reports for this beta release. Please submit your experiences, issues, and suggestions on our RT issue tracker or respond to this forum post.
Your testing and feedback are invaluable as we prepare for the final RT 6 release. This is your opportunity to get a head start on upgrading and find out if the new release has any issues with your RT configurations and customizations.
Thank you for your continued support of RT!
