RT 3.0.0rc3

Is now out. I think this finally resolves the perf issues folks were
seeing with rc1 and rc2.

It also fixes the fastcgi issue on solaris, as I currently understand
it.

It also fixes the “This user’s top tickets” display in the Ticket
Display screen.

If a couple of y’all will do me the favor of verifying that this is
actively better than RC1, I’l announce it a bit more widely on
wednesday.

Hi Jesse,
rc3 working fast and well over here. No more slowness or cpu grabbing
mysql. I can use all which did not work before now! Note: due to
timezone shift, I did not test Your aegis tarball.

Hi Jesse,

YESSSSS!
rc3 is working for me after having troubles with rc1 and rc2.
(SuSE-linux, apache-1.3.27, modperl1, mysql-max-4.0.8-gamma)

Ciao - Andrea

[rc2 was announce to rt-devel. Bugs were found and fixed]

Changes from rc1 are as follows:

6 fixing fastcgi's ability to load webmux.pl on some platforms
7 More performance work; backing out 'enhancements' that killed system performance
8 Caving in to the masses and making 'notify sender' configurable
10 Bumping to RC3; fixing the display of 'This user's n highest priority tickets'

You can obtain this release at:

Unless any showstoppers are discovered, RT 3.0.0 is expected to be
released this weekend.

Is RT3.0 intending to have a SOAP/web svcs interface? Alternatively,
what extension points does RT3 have that are network accessible? I
checked in the docs and the RT/FM, but didn’t find anything obvious.

thanks,
mike

As previously discussed on rt-devel (And I thought cced to
zclipse-devel), we’re working on a REST-based API for RT 3.0.x, but it’s
not making it into 3.0.0, as the developer’s rather late in delivering.
I’d thought that one of the zclipse folks was going to work on putting
together a WDSL spec for a SOAP api that we could then look at
implementing.

Best,
Jesse

thanks,
mike

(Ah, OK. There have been a lot of messages flying around rt-devel, so I
haven’t read them all, and I don’t think I saw one on zclipse-devel…
No matter, though.)

Heh, we were (or at least I was) thinking that we’d see an API from
your end, since you guys are the experts in what you present to the
world. We could probably put together a basic WSDL that does what we
want for Insectivore, but that would be an extremely simple API.

Actually, that’s always a good way to start these things. Perhaps Todd
and I will get together this weekend and see about doing that.

Excellent, thanks.
A simple first cut will allow us to get the framework going without
feeling like we need to slit our wrists

With the release of RT 3.0.0 will there be any changes to how it interacts
with oracle databases?
