Rt-2-0-15 install

Hi,

I am currently using FreeBSD 4.7-STABLE …

FreeBSD my.box 4.7-STABLE FreeBSD 4.7-STABLE #1

and I am tring to install rt2 from the ports collection
(/usr/ports/www/rt2).

I currently am using postgresql 7.3.1 and Apache 1.3.27

psql (PostgreSQL) 7.3.1

[Wed Jan 22 04:20:04 2003] [notice] Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) mod_fastcgi/2.2.12
mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.6g mod_perl/1.27 PHP/4.2.3 configured – resuming
normal operations

I am getting errors in the way that I am unable to create a new ticket via
the web page for RT.

RT via the web gives me an error that says: RT Error.

If I do a tail on my postgresql logfile I get: ERROR: pg_atoi: zero-length
string

If I do a tail on my rt.log0 file I get:

[Wed Jan 22 04:08:19 2003] [error]: WebRT: ()
[Wed Jan 22 04:08:37 2003] [err]: RT::Ticket=HASH(0x8e92b78) ->Create
couldn’t set EffectiveId: No value sent to _Set!

[Wed Jan 22 04:08:37 2003] [error]: WebRT: ()

I have dropped the database, dropped the user, recreated both multiple times
and deinstalled and reinstalled yet to no avail.

I have the apache httpd.conf file configured correctly, I have checked this
multiple times.

I have also run the ‘make testdeps’ and this gives me the all clear.

If anyone has seen this and / or may have some ideas on how to fix this,
this would be greatly appreciated.

I am going bald very quickly.

Thanks in advance,

Matthew.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your input, very very much appreciated.

Now I’ll just go and back date it to that version instead.

Thanks.

At this time, RT 2.0.x is not compatible with Postgres 7.3.

Postgres’ developers have made several incompatible SQL sand server
changes, requiring a number of changes to RT’s core.

At this time, it is strongly recommended that sites running RT on
Postgresql stick with v7.2
