I am uncertain as to what “ExtractCustomFields” gives someone over
CommandByMail. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t CBM give you the ability
to set Custom Fields? If so, what advantage does ExtractCustomField give
you?

ExtractCustomFieldValues is generally used to parse machine-generated
incoming mails for information, but people certainly do that using
CommandByMail also
