Question about RT6 MySql Version Requirements

Hello Team,

I’m currently upgrading RT 5 to RT 6. According to the README, RT 6 requires MySQL 8.0.31 or higher. However, in the installation section, it said that we can also set --with-db-type to mysql5 to run MySQL 5.7. Therefore, is it necessary to upgrade MySQL before installing RT 6?

Did you ever get any clarification on this? I’m considering migrating from 5.0.4 to 6.0.2, but everything I’ve gleaned thus far suggests I should rebuild the server from scratch and migrate the DB into a new RT6 instance. I’m currently running mysql5.7 as well
