Q: adding ticket count to Autoreply template

I would like to customize my RT (ver 4.0.17) autoreply template to include a count of all tickets that are open or new and owned by Nobody.

It looks like I should build this around:
{ $Tickets->Count() }

I was wondering if anyone had already done something similar and would be willing to share an example?
