Posting of rt-bugs

Hello Jesse,

should bugs be posted to rt-bugs only or also to rt-devel-List. I ask
because I filed some bugs to rt-bugs that have never been responded to. I
have never seen this happened when I posted to rt-devel.

So I do a reminder here and ask for future policy:

[fsck.com #7539] AutoReply: rt-3.4-bug (perhabps in Text::Quoted?): message
not displayed correctly
[fsck.com #7635] AutoReply: bug rt 3.{4.5|6.0}: attachment from outlook
with umlauts in filename

Regards,
Dirk.

I think it’s best to post to rt-devel and Bcc rt-bugs. That way
everyone sees what you have found and can comment, and you
will get a ticket. Just be sure to Bcc and not Cc, or replies
to your post will end up creating tickets.

Thanks, I will do so in future.

Yep. It is a problem. We’re currently working to make this better by
setting up a scheme where correspondence on rt-bugs tickets goes to
rt-devel automatically (and correspondence from the list about tickets
would get added to the ticket).

This is what perl5-porters does and it works really well for them.
Does it sound like this would help?

Best,
JEsse

That sounds mighty useful.

May I suggest adding the bug-reporting address to the footer of the
devel list so that the currently preferred method can easily be deduced.
