New install problem... (fwd)

I am having trouble getting rt to accept incoming mail to the alias I have
setup… Any suggestions? Check below for details…

I have an alias on a mailserver that forwards to the rt servers. Everytime
it bounces with an error that looks like the rt server refuses the
connection…

What MTA? I’d suggest you try rt-users@fsck.com

nope… I changed the alias to root@machine.domain.com and root mail is
working fine… could it be something wrong with the config for rt? What
variable is used to set the mail address? Does there need to be a specific
user account on the machine? Could this be an exim-to-rt issue?

just a suggestion:

I’m guessing the problem has to do with your mail delivery mechanism.
To test, do this:
on your rt serving host, change the alias to something simple (e.g.
forward to root or something) so as to take rt out of the equation.

Then try sending email to the same address and see if it arrives. I’m
betting that it doesn’t arrive, and that you get the same error, which
would indicate the problem is not with rt, but your mail system.

Hello Jesse…

I am having trouble with rt in regards to mail access… It seems that the
