Mandatory custom field on ticket creation

Is there a way to make choosing a custom field value mandatory for
ticket creation?

Thanks
Matt

what about email submissions? how do you plan on adding the custom
field from them?

Good point. Tickets are created from a form in most queues - I guess it
would have to be a mandatory value only for certain queues.

I will answer your question with another question.

Do any of you have a script which will parse an email and add a custom
field value to a ticket based on a keyword? Like if the incoming email
has MyCustomField=xyz, the RT custom field MyCustomField will have value
xyz when the ticket is created.

I want to deactivate e-mail submission, and send them a reject mail,
because the users should use the web interface.
The mandatory field whould be very interesting for support personal,
because after a ticket or a mail is sent, many informations are missing,
so for example a field where the user has to insert an ID of his
computer whould be very interesting.
About the mail checks I already sent a mail, and also one to rt-bugs and
why the autoreject template is never used.

Take a look in the archives. It is supposed to also be the RT3 contrib area, but I couldn’t find it there

I haven’t tried this yet, but it’s on my ‘list of things to do’-----Original Message-----
