Mailgate pukes on faulty subjects (3.0.3pre4)

We had a mailsending script that didn’t encode the subject header
correctly, and the mailgate spitted out the following error:

Jun 19 08:12:37 rasputin postfix/local[29505]: 4249CA37CF:
to=helpdesk-student@rt3.unit.liu.se, relay=local, delay=3,
status=bounced (Command died with status 11:
“/service/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --queue ‘Support Kundcenter - Student’
–action correspond --url https://rt3.unit.liu.se/”. Command output: RT
server error. The RT server which handled your email did not behave as
expected. It said:

System
error

error:  Unknown encoding 'UNKNOWN' at /service/rt3/lib/RT/I18N.pm line 305
context:

Shouldn’t rt just cut the subject and proceed with the ticket anyways?
With the current “method”, we have mails that just disappear, never
entering the system. We’ve fixed our script now, but there might be
other MUAs that doesn’t encode properly.

It still gives the same error message.
