Mail reply to requestor

#1

Hello,

I installed RT 1.07 on a Redhat Linux 6.2 with Perl 5.00503-12. All
desired perl modules are installed. But there is a problem with sending
mails to the requestor existing. After using the reply function
and pushing the “Send response” button there is no mail sent by RT. I
tried the same test again but wrote my email adress also in the CC field
and
I got the mail once. In this mail I could see that the To: field was
empty.

On another test system (Redhat Linux 7.0 with Perl 5.6) the email reply
is working.

Do you have an idea how I can solve this problem ?

Thanks and best regards,

Heiko Burghardt

After using the reply function and pushing the "Send response"
button there is no mail sent by RT.

I asked that question a few weeks ago, and I’ve seen it yet
another time since then, so it would seem this is definitely a
FAQ (hint, hint, whoever maintains it ;-))

I bet you created the ticket you’re replying to? Well, RT sees
that, and won’t send mail to the person who is actually clicking
away in the interface – after all, if you’re writing the reply,
you don’t need it in your already overflowing mailbox, right?

I had to create two users (same e-mail, if you want) to verify
that RT would actually send replies by mail.

Hello,

I installed RT 1.07 on a Redhat Linux 6.2 with Perl 5.00503-12. All
desired perl modules are installed.
When I try to reply on a request and push the “Send response” button
there is no mail sent to the requestor (I am the requestor in my tests).
And when I try the same again and put my email adress into the CC field
I get the mail once. In this mail I can see that the To: field is
empty.

On another test system (Redhat Linux 7.0 with Perl 5.6) the email reply
is working (but that is no system to run RT live).

Do you have an idea how I can solve this problem ?

Thanks and best regards,

Go and read the archives
http://lists.fsck.com/pipermail/rt-users/2001-January/thread.html

There is some one say… the requestor and the one and reply should not be
the same email address.

If requestor email address not equal to the one who reply, then it will send
out email.
