Mail Gateway Setup

Hi,

I had this problem a while ago

Put a symlink to rt-mailgate in the /etc/smrsh directory.

i.e. cd /etc/smrsh; ln -s /opt/rt2/bin/rt-mailgate rt-mailgate

Hope this help,

Ben.

rt: “|/opt/rt2/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action
correspond”
rt-action: “|/opt/rt2/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action
action”

Whenever I try to send emails to “rt” I get the following error:

What in the world is going on? And how do I get around this?
Please, help!

Thanks.

(I am curerntly using version 2.3-69 of RT, and sendmail 8.x -the version
that comes with redhat 7.0)

Sounds like sendmail restricted shell (smrsh) is clobbering rt-mailgate,
look for your smrsh directory and symlink rt-mailgate into it.

I’ve added

“|/opt/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action correspond --url
http://localhost/

on a RedHat 8.0 installation. When I run “newaliases”, I get

“cannot alias non-local names”

Is there a suggested workaround?
Is there something in my sendmail.mc file which causes this?

you forgot the first part of the alias declaration :

somename : “|/opt/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action
correspond --url http://localhost/
