Logging Events - Questions on How RT Does this

I am looking to find out how RT goes about logging certain events
(sucessful and failed) and where they are stored. Anyone can point me
in the right direction for these questions:

User Logons & Logoffs
User / Group permission changes

Any help is most appreciated.
