I’m setting up a new queue with associated groups and a new article class under RT 5.0.8. All good so far, but this group not only would like to create/modify their articles within the new classes, but also create/modify the topic list associated with that class.
Now I can give the group access to the article menu (ShowArticlesMenu in global staff rights for that group), with the rights to create and modify articles in the new class, and that lets them search and create articles OK. However giving the group both ModifyCustomField and ModifyArticleTopics staff rights in the articles class Group Rights menu doesn’t seem to give them any UI to actually modify the topics. Am I missing something? Can non-admin groups manage their article class topics as well as just select from the list that RT admins generate for them?
As an RT admin I can create topics under the class from within the Admin->Articles->Classes menu. However I don’t particularly want to give this group the ShowAdminMenu global rights as they aren’t RT admin and it exposes a lot more options than just article topics. I just want to let them manage their own topics within this new article class. Am I being a bit of a thicky-thicky-dumb-dumb and missing something obvious here in the UI?
Oh, and whilst I think of it, I noticed that the 5.0.8 documentation on articles refers to Tools -> Articles menu even though the Articles was moved out of the Tools menu many versions ago. That had me wandering down a blind alley for a few minutes!
