I installed RT 3.0.3 on FreeBSD 4.8 using perl-5.6.1_13, apache-2.0.47,
mysql-server-4.1.0_1
and mod_perl2-1.99r09.Without RTIR and RTFM.
I made a new user and added to DutyTeam group.
I am having a problem when I am trying to create tickets through the UI (New
Ticket in → General).
The error message that appear on the web browser is:
Connection to host rt-machine.ccuec.unicamp.br is broken
I looked for the /var/log/httpd-error.log, /var/log/httpd-access.log and
/var/log/messages, but
I don’t known where is the problem.
/var/log/httpd-error.log:
[Tue Jul 22 17:21:03 2003] [error]: WebRT: Queue could not be loaded. ()
(/usr/local/rt3/share/html/Elements/Error:54)

I have the same problem on FreeBSD 5.1. Is there any advice ?

I have a working test installation of RT 3.0.4 on a FreeBSD 5.1.
I can recommend to upgrade to perl5.8, found in ports. Install and
execute “use.perl port”, recompile your perlmodules with portupgrade.
I use mod_perl1 instead of mod_perl2, and postgresql for db.
Other than that, RT 3.0.4 worked out of the box.
