Find Asset function on the Self Service portal

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know if you can put the Find Asset function on the Self Service portal? I know we can show the assets heldby the user but I would like for them to be able to search for other assets and open tickets on them.

You could enable $SelfServiceUseDashboard and then add FindAsset to the $SelfServicePageComponents and then you can include that portlet!
