Email setup for new install

Greetings,

I have a quick question ( I hope) We have an existing mail server that I
would like to use with RT. Do I still need to set up up an MTA on the
local RT system ? It is not clear to me what I need to do to configure
RT to work with an existing email server. Thanks for any help…

No, you can use rt-mailgate on your email server, that is all you need.
