Email Requests

I am somewhat new to the Unix side of things. I have been working the last
couple of days with Sendmail and RT 3 on Mac OS X. I am trying to get
everything set up so that requests can be emailed to RT and it will create
the ticket and send the conformation email back. However, when I send the
email for a request to support@rt.mydomain.com, I get the following message
returned.

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
“/usr/local/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action correspond --url
http://rt.mydomain.com/
(reason: Can’t create output)
(expanded from: support@rt.mydomain.com)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
550 5.0.0 “/usr/local/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action
correspond --url http://rt.mydomain.com/”… Can’t create output

I have read through the FAQ and the Sendmail pages. I have created
/etc/smrsh and /usr/adm/sm.bin and placed a symlink to rt-mailgate thinking
this would fix the problem but it didn¹t. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

That should probably be “|/usr/local/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general
–action correspond --url http://rt.mydomain.com/”, ie. with a
leading “|”.
