I just upgraded to RT 5.0 and have been poking around. In Search Preferences, I found the button “Custom Date Ranges”. I haven’t been able to figure out how to leverage it or even what it is for. I found this documentation, but I still don’t understand what it does. Can anyone explain its purpose or give an example of its use?

You can add custom date ranges, such as “From started to resolved” to more complicated date ranges that uses date custom fields

In case anyone stumbles upon this in the future: They’re effectively calculations, e.g. “display $To minus $From”, which can be inserted into search results as a column.
