Create a ticket in the Self Service, how?

Hi,

I fiddled with the grouprights, but without luck…

I wanted to allow my users to create new tickets via the Self Service
webinterface.

It looks good, when it starts, but the queue-fiels remains empty and hence
the creation fails.

Any suggestions?

Marco

You have to give the unpriviledged system group the SeeQueue and
CreateTicket Rights.

And to have the expected functionality of the Self Service, you will also
have to give ReplyToTicket and ShowTicket rights to the Requestor Role.

Real,

That was it, thanks a lot!

I have one priviledged user and he still can’t create tickets on the Self
Service page. I added SeeQueue and CreateTicket in the priviledged
systems-group, but that din’t work. The ‘new ticket in’ button allt he way
in top of the screen doesn’t offer any queues.

Any suggestions there?

Try RT logout - login.
This flush list of queues where user could create tickets.

I am curious, how I enable or navigate to the “self service” gui. I
have heard lots of hints about it… but I can’t seem to find any clear
description of how to set it up or use it. Is there a clear cut how to
on enabeling Self Service? any help would be great.

thanks,
Justin

You could add /SelfService to base URL in Browser.
Also it’s default interface for unpriveleged users and with right to
access WebUI. This options on user configuration page.
Just create new account with password and try it.
