Changing LDAP server

Hi,

In the past we used zyntial as our ldap server now we use microsoft active directory.
I would like to connect RT to our new LDAP. But I would like to keep the current users. Is it possible to match current users to there active directory equivilent?

What is the difference?
If users have same names/emails there is no problem, I think
