Is there any kind of plugin for managing holidays? We manually change our templates for holidays and was wondering if anyone has written a plugin that will take care of this automatically?
I haven’t come across one, but I’d expect that any that would do this would make use of Date::Holidays - Date::Holidays::* adapter and aggregator for all your holiday needs - metacpan.org as the source of holiday information. You could have the templates pick what content to use based on that Date::Holidays tells you.
We flip templates over for a couple of direct mail in queues for Xmas and Easter closures/holidays. Can’t really automate that though as the closures are for longer than the religious festival dates and the owners of those queues often want to tweak the wording each year anyway. We just use last year’s Xmas/Easter template as a basis for doing this year’s.
