API Rest Token not user/pass

Good morning friends, how are you? I would like to ask a question today we use R 4.4.3 and I need to use the API, but there is a protection to pass username and password in clear text, is there a way to use Token?

Do I need to make any updates to use API 2.0 with a token?

ISTR that with the pre-RT 5.x releases you also needed to installed RT::Authen::Token extension to provide for token access to RT::Extension::REST2.
