My boss has asked me to set up rt and I am a complete novice.
Anyway he wants me to set up a frontend where the customer
Is forced to enter certain fields, this then gets sent to rt.
Is there any tool or application that already exists?

Does the frontend need access to any existing RT data?
If not, or if this is a form for the first contact
with the customer you can use a completely unrelated
web form that sends email to alias for the RT queue.
There are a number of web form to email programs
around that include ways to require input in specified
fields and with this approach it doesn’t have to run
on the same web server as RT.
