Utf-8 encoding problem

We unfortunately have been hit by what I assume is the utf-8 double
encoding problem. (We’ve started experiencing corrupted attachments.)

Is there a way to verify that is indeed our problem?

I’ve just upgraded to perl 5.8.3.

Is there a way to “repair” the damaged attachments?

try a query log. That’s how I detected mine (see other post).
