Upgrade 3.0.2 -> 3.0.3

I upgraded from 3.0.2 to 3.0.3 and I cannot seem to write to the rt.log file anymore. I have upgraded the perl dependencies and restarted apache

I am running apache 1.3.27, modperl1-1.27, mysql-4.0.12

Here is what I see in the log:

[error] Can’t write to ‘/rt.log’: Permission denied at /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/Log/Dispatch/
File.pm line 92.

The permissions are set at -rw-rw-rw- 1 daemon rt

Thanks in advance for your help!

If I recall correctly, this issue was fixed in 3.0.4. But you might
also want to consider turning off logging to a file and just log to
syslog. You get lots of things like rollover and concurrency control for
free.

I just upgraded to 3.0.4 and I am seeing the same problem, but now I am experiencing some strange behavior with loging in. I receive an internal 500 error on the page with the same error about accessing the rt.log reported in the apache error log, but if I refresh the page 5-6 times, it eventually allows me to log in. I also can no longer send mail to rt-mailgate and the web page randomly misses content (background, etc).From: Jesse Vincent [mailto:jesse@bestpractical.com]

This sounds very much like you’ve got a misconfiguration of
Log::Dispatch. I recommended before that you turn off LogToFile and use
LogToSyslog instead. But it’s 2am and somewhat past my bedtime ;)On Thu, Aug 07, 2003 at 01:59:45AM -0400, Cassily, Ryan wrote:

on /rt.log? I suspect you’re missing a path somewhere…
