RT 4.2.0rc5 released

We’re pleased to announce the availability of RT 4.2.0rc5 - the fifth
release candidate for the next major version of RT. This release
corrects encoding errors with new versions of the Encode module, and
rendering of fonts in pie charts.

We look forward to hearing your experiences installing or upgrading to
this release; the more feedback we get, the sooner the official release
of RT 4.2.0 can occur. Bear in mind that reports of successful installs
and upgrades are just as important as reports of issues.

Please be sure to review the upgrading documentation available in
docs/UPGRADING-4.2, as there are a number of backward-incompatible
changes that come along with the new version number. Upgrading
documentation is also available here:

  • Alex Vandiver, for Best Practical

Hi,

upgraded my RT development system (Ubuntu 13.04) successfully from
4.0.17 to 4.2.0rc5.
The upgrade went smooth without any problems and took only 5 minutes
(~200.000 tickets).

You should review the print styles as the page title (#header h1)
overlaps with other page elements and some elements
(HomeRefreshInterval, #ticket-info-reminders) with inputs are most not
necessary in the print layout.

Also you should think about import the latest translations from
launchpad as rc5 have 675 missing German translations and launchpad
report only 186 missing German translations.
