Hi folks,
For the last two days I’ve been trying to get rt 3.8.1 working with
Centos 5.2.
I had a working config of 3.6.5 and upgraded. I was required to upgrade
the mysql DB
in steps until I got to 3.8.1. I did this and I think it is okay. I
did this successfully while running
Centos4.
I got to the point where apache wouldn’t work right and it looked like
an upgrade was needed but
the version wasn’t available for the version of Centos4 I was running.
I decided to upgrade to
Centos5. This was done via the upgrade path with the install CD’s.
I’ve run the configure commad (using the command I used for installing
my previous working version
3.6.5) and did a test makedeps. I get many missing dependencies:
[root@rt rt-3.8.1]# make testdeps
/usr/bin/perl ./sbin/rt-test-dependencies --verbose --with-mysql
–with-fastcgi

make: *** [testdeps] Error 1
However, if I look at my system, many of these are already installed but
at a higher version.
For example:
[root@rt rt-3.8.1]# perl -MCPAN -e’install “DBIx::SearchBuilder”'
CPAN: Storable loaded ok
Going to read /root/.cpan/Metadata
Database was generated on Wed, 27 Aug 2008 10:02:51 GMT
DBIx::SearchBuilder is up to date.
but the make testdeps says:
DBIx::SearchBuilder >= 1.54...MISSING
Does rt 3.8.1 work with Centos5? If it does, I’m thinking something
went funky
during the “upgrade” process since I see some rpms with a fc6.i386
extension.
I’ve tried running make fixdeps and re-getting all the CPAN stuff but so
far no luck.
Any suggestions so that I don’t have to wipe the whole system and start
from scratch
would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Janet
