RT 2 to RT 3 version 1.6

http://fsck.com/pub/rt/devel/rt2-to-rt3-v1.6.tar.gz

This version adds a first cut of an “incremental import” tool, so that
large sites can manage to do a full import without extensive downtime.
More details are in the readme. I’d love to hear success/failure
reports.

Ok, grabbed this, made a new dump from the rt2 database.

Grabbed rc4 and installed it, initialized the db. Did the import of the dump
and got this output:

./dumpfile-to-rt-3.0 rt2dump

Also, other misbehavior I notice, if I click new search, status “isn’t”
“resolved”, results per page “100”, click search, it says “Found 71 Tickets”
however only 18 are displayed on the screen.

If I try doing new search and status “isn’t” “new”, it says “Found 723 Tickets”
(about the right amount) but only displays 3 of them on the screen.

Ok. so there’s some sort of issue with ‘NotifyOwner’ imports

Could not create scrip: On Resolve Notify Requestors, Ccs and AdminCcs As
Comment with templateescalation-resolved in queue14

the importer can’t import custom templates

Could not create scrip: On Status Notify AdminCcs with templateTransaction
in
queue22

here you’ve got a non-standard condition. no real surprise that the
importer won’t import it.

Any ideas?

Sure you’ve got permissions to see them?

Hmm, I guess that was a vast assumption, now that I think of it. I compared the
rights from the production rt2 server and everything is set to (no value) under
Configuration:Global:UserRights, as are all the GroupRights. The settings are
the same on the rt3 server.

Is this the correct place to determine if I’ve got permissions?

Ouch! Every one of my queues has a customized OnCreate template sent
to the creator giving them topic-specific instructions regarding their
query…

What happens to them? Do the templates get lost and the corresponding
scrips ignored? I guess manually recreating them wouldn’t be a big
issue…

Correct. they just need to be manually imported. Because of the API
changes between RT2 and RT3, we don’t want to do a blind import. On Fri, Mar 21, 2003 at 02:05:32PM -0500, Vivek Khera wrote:
