Problems with "make initialize-database" under Solaris 9

Hi,

I’m trying to install RT 3.0.4 on a Solaris 9 server after a successful eval
period of a RH 9 machine. I have manually install Mysql 4.0.14, Perl 5.8.0
and DBD:mysql 2.9002 as well as used the perl module install script which
comes with RT.

The problem is that every time I run “make initialize-database” I get the
following error:

install_driver(mysql) failed: Can’t load
‘/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/sun4-solaris/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.so’
for module DBD::mysql: ld.so.1: /usr/local/bin/perl: fatal: relocation
error: file

Compilation failed in require at (eval 1649) line 3, line 1.
Perhaps a required shared library or dll isn’t installed where expected

The install of the software went cleanly so does anyone know what could be
causing this? The LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable contains the mysql libs.

Thanks,

Nick

Despite setting LD_LIBRARY_PATHs and different compile options I ended up
using crle to add a search path for a piece of software recently (not rt I
hasten to add). Might be worth a try if you get really stuck.
