MySQL Tuning

I’m looking for ways to tune MySQL because it gets increasingly slower. I’ve already set up cleaning out the sessions table to what I can only describe as limited effect. I found this: http://mysqlha.blogspot.com/2008/12/make-mysql-faster-in-one-hour_14.html which mentions a patch from Google. Not being a developer or pure database admin I have no clue what is being said here. Perhaps someone can either translate or simply tell me “don’t bother”.

Do you have server with 8+ cores? If no then don’t bother.

For the beginning you can start from http://mysqltuner.plOn Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 12:53 AM, Mathew mathew.snyder@gmail.com wrote:
