I’m looking for ways to tune MySQL because it gets increasingly slower. I’ve already set up cleaning out the sessions table to what I can only describe as limited effect. I found this: High Availability MySQL: Make MySQL faster in one hour which mentions a patch from Google. Not being a developer or pure database admin I have no clue what is being said here. Perhaps someone can either translate or simply tell me “don’t bother”.

Do you have server with 8+ cores? If no then don’t bother.
