MySQL Optimization

Hi

Has anyone tried to optimize the mysql to improve the performance on RT
3.0.9 ?

I am using RT 3.0.9 + mysql 4.0.17 + mod_perl1 on Solaris

And this is what I wanted to try. However I am looking for an advice
before attempting it

mysqldump -f --opt {database_name} > /tmp/db.sql
mysql {database_name} < /tmp/db.sql

Thanks to Jesse for this awesome tool

Make sure you are using the appropriate memory settings from the
my-(small|medium|large|huge).cnf sample files.

mysqldump -f --opt {database_name} > /tmp/db.sql
mysql {database_name} < /tmp/db.sql

All that will do is give you a faster dump/load of your database. It doesn’t optimize the database just the dump/load process.
