Modifying "From" Header

I am trying to format the “from” line in outgoing e-mails so that it does not include the actor’s or queue’s name, but instead uses the company name for all outgoing e-mail. So, instead of:

“Queue Name” <support@whatever.com>

or

“Tim Gustafson” <support@whatever.com>

It should be:

“Company Name” <support@whatever.com>

According to the RT documentation:

$FriendlyFromLineFormat
sprintf()` format of the friendly ‘From:’ header; its arguments are SenderName and SenderEmailAddress.

And according to the Perl documentation for sprintf, this ought to be possible:

Set($FriendlyFromLineFormat, “"Company Name" <%2$s>”);

However, all outbound e-mail has the following header with that configuration:

From: “Company Name” <%2>

What am I doing wrong? Is there any way to use a static value for the “Friendly” part of the “From:” header?

I wonder if you need to escape the dollar sign in there with a backslash? Ie something like:

Set($FriendlyFromLineFormat, ““Company Name” <%2$s>”);

Or maybe have single quotes around the format?

Set($FriendlyFromLineFormat, ‘“Company Name” <%2$s>’);

Thanks for the suggestions! You were correct. This turns out to be the proper incantation:

Set($FriendlyFromLineFormat, ‘“Company Name” <%2$s>’);
