I am reposting this question because unfortunately I did get only one (empty) and two (out of office) responses. If this is a very silly question / error, I do apologize in advance, and certainly will appreciate any hint that points me into the right direction.
At this point I am even considering upgrading to 3.4.3 since It seems to have some interesting improvements in the mailgate.
I am also very exited about the RT Book, which I should get within a couple days, but I am not sure if the book will help me solve the problem right away.

We are on RT 3.4.2 and are experiencing problems with Mailgate, which retrieves mails through fetchmail.
Fetchmail command:
poll mail.domain.com proto pop3: username mailuser@domain.com password 123456 mda “/usr/bin/perl /opt/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --debug --url http://tickets.domain.com --queue support --action correspond”
Error message:
Can’t locate object method “init” via package “MIME::Decoder::QuotedPrint” at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.4/MIME/Decoder.pm line 179.
We are using the latest “MIME-tools” and “MIME::Base64”
Any clues are appreciated,
