E-mail function

Recently, I began to use Request Tracker.
Would you please answer the following questions;

  1. ISO-2022-JP for “Content-Type”.
The system corresponding to ISO-2022-JP is popular in Japan. For example,
the ratio of the mobile phone which can decode UTF-8 is low. Is it possible
to make Request Tracker correspond to ISO-2022-JP ?

  2. Some mail addresses are recognized to be illegal.
For example, if there is a mail address like “abcde@t.fghijkl.yy.zz”,
the part “t.” will be recognized to be illegal and RT will refuse.
Is there how to correct this?

Yep. Have a look at EmailOutputEncodings in the RT_Config.pm file

I think that you’re running into a bad error message that should be
better in more recent versions. It just thinks that there’s already a
user with that email address.

Jesse san,

Thank you very much for the quick reply.
And, I am happy to get a reply from the author of Request Tracker.

I understood about “Content-Type”. The user becomes to receive
the email, encoded for ISO-2022-JP.
Please let me know to a slight degree about the email address.

It just thinks that there’s already a user with that email address.

After this rejection broke out, I got the owner of this email address
to send to RT. RT displayed this email address “abcde@t.fghijkl.yy.zz”
correctly. Then, I performed the “New User” registration using
this ticket. And this registration was successful.

From those things, I guess that “abcde@t.fghijkl.yy.zz” was not
registered on the database.

BTW, I’d like to also try RT of the latest version for an error
message verification.

Tanks,

Shin
