Deleting ticket from the RT3 database

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

hello RT users,

i am using RT3 in the following environment:

OS: RedHat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0
kernel: 2.4.21-4.EL
RT: rt-3.0.10
MySQL: 4.0
Perl: 5.8.0

I would like to know whether it is possible to completely delete a ticket
from the RT3 database, and how to do that.

Much as i have googled, i have failed to find anything on this subject!

any help is greatly appreciated.

regards,

ernest.

Yeah. It’s a little bit crapy, yet.
I’ve updated it locally, but don’t release new version yet.
Use ‘/opt/rt3/local/sbin/rtx-shredder’ script.

perldoc /opt/rt3/local/sbin/rtx-shredder
perldoc /opt/rt3/local/lib/RTx/Shredder.pm

If functionality of rtx-shredder script is not enough report back I’ll
try to help you.

Also don’t forget about patch.

Use ‘/opt/rt3/local/sbin/rtx-shredder’ script.

when i use that script, below is the output i get:

[root@emu log]# /usr/local/rt3/local/sbin/rtx-shredder 2004-09-23
Tickets list is empty.
[root@emu log]#

when i log in back to RT and search for ticket numbers i deleted, i still
see the tickets (though marked as deleted of course). please advise what i
am missing - and thanks for the help so far!

Also don’t forget about patch.

please advise which patch this is… (I can see in the documentation about
a patch to enable RT to search for deleted tickets, but my RT can search
for deleted tickets).

regards,

ernest.

patch is in ‘patches’ dir.

No, it shouldn’t. API doesn’t allow to do it well because of this you
see ‘Tickets list is empty’ message.

thanks, i am however getting a timeout error while trying to access:

Browse RUZ/RTx-Shredder-0.01/patches - metacpan.org
Get tarball.
tar -xzvf RTx-Shredder-0.01.tar.gz
cd RTx-Shredder-0.01
ls patches

If you installed via CPAN shell then you have tarball allready in
~/.cpan/sources/authors/id/R/RU/RUZ/

I’ll release new version with updated docs today.
