Could not start the apache server (error in webmux.pl)

Hi guys,

I have just finished installing RT and made some modification on
httpd.conf according to RT’s README file. When I start the apache server
using “apachectl start”, I received the following error:

[Wed Apr 3 17:36:18 2002] [error] Can’t locate object method
“dir_config” via package “Apache::Server” at
/usr/lib/perl5/site-perl/HTML/Mason/ApacheHandler.pm
line 365.
BEGIN failed–compilation aborted at /usr/local/rt2/bin/webmux.pl line
20.

Syntax error on line 986 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Can’t locate object method “dir_config” via package “Apache::Server” at
/usr/lib/perl5/site-perl/HTML/Mason/ApacheHandler.pm line 365.
BEGIN failed–compilation aborted at /usr/local/rt2/bin/webmux.pl line
20.

/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

---- End error ----

Any pointer to solve this problem. TIA.

Any pointer to solve this problem. TIA.

Did you build mod_perl from source? If you’ve used a packaged version
of mod_perl, it might not (a) be recent or (b) have been built with all
the necessary hooks. If so, rebuild, and be sure to specify EVERYTHING=1.
