We are having the same issue with corrupted PDFs that others have reported
here recently. I went through the archives, the manual, Google, and the
Wiki pages and can’t find any references to how this issue is actually
resolved.
Is there a fix for this problem? Basically, PDFs arrive as attachments and
are reported as such by RT. However, when we open them, all we get are
blank pages. This happens even with very small PDF files, of about 20K in
size.

I don’t believe you couldn’t find how it was resolved. The recent
corrupt attachment problems were all fixed by upgrading perl to it’s
latest version. Further, I note your mail doesn’t include any version
numbers. that makes debugging hard.
Well, I DID do a search and read the pages and I did it precisely so I
wouldn’t be accused of not researching before posting.
The missing version numbers was an omission on my part. I need to get in
the habit of making them part of my inquiries.
Finally, I appreciate you indicating a Perl upgrade is the fix. However,
what I’ve read tells me this fixes a problem with ALL attachments getting
corrupted. Our problem is with PDF documents only. For example, we get
JPGs in just fine.
Maybe your PDFs have the characters in them that trigger
the Perl bug and your jpegs do not…On Fri, Mar 19, 2004 at 01:08:42PM -0500, Adolfo Santiago wrote:
