Can't call method "ping" on an undefined value ... RT.pm line 122

aiee… so close, 90% working.

There have been a couple other posts in regards to this error. Most notably
Ruslan Zakirov submitted a patch yesterday:
http://lists.fsck.com/pipermail/rt-devel/2003-August/004593.html

I’m experiencing the following errors in the logs when I reply/comment on a
ticket. No mail is ever sent. I can, however, get mail out via RT when
creating a ticket.

Ruslan’s patch stops the errors from appearing in the Apache logs but RT
still refuses to send out the mail.

This is in regards to RT 3.0.4 on Red Hat 8.0.

Thank you,
